Guardianship
Ensuring the personal and financial needs of those unable to make their own decisions

Guardianship
A Guardianship is a court appointed position appointing an individual or entity to manage the needs of an individual who is unable to make or communicate responsible decisions due to a mental or physical disability. The Guardian may need to make decisions that affect the person’s care, comfort, and well being, including food, clothing, shelter, and health care. A Guardian may also have the ability to consent to medical treatment or other professional services and apply for benefits and approve contracts.
The Court may limit the services to be provided for the person. As with a Conservatorship, the Guardian must file annual reports to the Court.
Why have a Corporate Guardian?
The reasons for a Corporate Guardian, such as Fiduciary Solutions, are the same as with a corporate conservator, providing similar services:
- Collecting and payment of bills and expenses
- Making medical decisions
- Overseeing investments, benefits and contracts
- The ability to exclude emotions in making decisions in regard to the assets
